We Acquired Arrogates Hercules
In late summer of 2024, we were contacted by a family seeking an evaluation of a son of Arrogate to determine his potential as a stallion. Using the Sex Balance Report within Pedigrees360, we analyzed the colt—and the results were immediately compelling. Arrogates Hercules demonstrated mtDNA levels consistent with those typically seen in elite, breed-shaping stallions.
As we dug deeper into his pedigree, our enthusiasm only grew. This is a son of Arrogate—one of the most extraordinary racehorses in modern history, and tragically, one whose lineage will not be expanded further. On the dam side, Arrogates Hercules is out of Willet, a multiple graded stakes–placed and multiple stakes-winning mare who earned over $865,000. Even more impressive were her speed figures—118, 117, and 115—exceptional numbers for any racehorse, let alone a mare.
For perspective, consider Secret Oath, Arrogate’s Kentucky Oaks-winning daughter, whose top three speed figures were 110, 109, and 105. Or Zenyatta, whose career average speed figure was 111, with a 110 average over her final three races. Simply put, Willet could run—and, as we all know, Arrogate could run. Combined, the sire and dam amassed an extraordinary $18.2 million in earnings.
Naturally, one immediate question arose: why did Arrogates Hercules never race? Was it soundness? Lack of ability? The answer is neither. Due to disputes among previous ownership involving stud fees, boarding, and veterinary expenses, a stallion certificate was not issued for several years. By the time these matters were resolved, Arrogates Hercules had developed into a massive individual—standing over 17 hands and weighing more than 1,400 pounds—making the risks associated with initiating a racing career too great. Notably, his early works indicated significant talent, but circumstances beyond his control prevented him from ever making it to the track.
Despite that, we were convinced: this is a colt that absolutely deserves an opportunity in the breeding shed.
Stacy and I were fortunate to acquire Arrogates Hercules, and our excitement has only grown since. His first foal arrived just weeks ago and already shows the same big bone and powerful frame that defined both Arrogate and Arrogates Hercules.
We firmly believe Arrogates Hercules represents one of the best-bred stallions currently standing in the United States. Consider the rarity: a stallion whose sire and dam combined to earn over $18.2 million, with elite, top-tier speed figures to match. That level of proven performance on both sides of the pedigree is exceptionally difficult to find.
For the 2026 breeding season, Arrogates Hercules is being offered at an introductory fee that represents tremendous value. We are confident that once his progeny begin to hit the ground and be seen, his fee will rise accordingly in 2027.
This is a rare opportunity to access world-class genetics at a ground-floor price.
